Croeso! Welcome to Xiberras Ceramics, in the heart of Ceredigion, West Wales.

I'm James, a ceramic artist creating handmade pottery inspired by the landscapes, coastline and slower pace of life that surround my studio. Every piece is individually thrown, hand-built or cast, glazed by hand, and fired with care. No two pieces are ever exactly alike, making each one a unique expression of craftsmanship and creativity.

For me, working with clay is much more than making pottery—it's a mindful practice. The repetitive rhythms of centring, throwing, trimming, carving and glazing encourage complete attention to the present moment. Over the years I've discovered that the creative process itself brings a sense of calm, focus and joy, allowing each piece to evolve naturally rather than be forced. This 'flow' influences everything I make, from functional tableware to decorative ceramic wall art.

I believe ceramics should be used, enjoyed and lived with. Whether it's your favourite morning mug, a teapot for sharing a cuppa with family and friends, or a piece of ceramic wall art that catches the light, my hope is that every item brings a moment of connection, warmth and mindfulness into everyday life.

Choosing handmade means choosing objects with a story. It supports traditional craftsmanship, sustainable small-scale making, and the simple pleasure of owning something created slowly by human hands rather than mass-produced.
